Currently my latest obsession has been a TV show called Yellowjackets. It drew me in quick and before I knew it I had binged the first two seasons and am currently finishing the newest season. Yellowjackets is one of those shows that manages to be a psychological thriller, survival drama, and coming of age story all wrapped in one. Premiering on Showtime, the series follows the journey of a high school girl’s soccer team whose plane crashes deep in the wilderness in the 1990s. What starts as a desperate fight for survival quickly spirals into something much darker. As the stranded teens try their best to survive they quickly start to lose their minds and make decisions that will haunt them for decades.
In the show there is a dual timeline. While we watch the teens descend into chaos in the wilderness, the show also jumps forward 25 years to follow the now-adult survivors, who are battling PTSD, buried secrets, and the chilling consequences of their past. If your are into dark mysteries and a slow burn suspense that keeps you on edge, Yellowjackets is a must watch.
