We all have those days where everything seems off, when your mood feels heavy, your thoughts are clouded, and you are just stuck. I have learned instead of fighting against it, it is way more powerful to acknowledge the negativity and give myself the space to reset. Over time, I’ve developed a few go to rituals that help me shake off that feeling and find balance again.
Quieting the Noise
On days when I am feeling especially anxious or overwhelmed, meditation is my reset button. I will just sit outside for just 5-10 minutes, focusing on my breath, or listening to a guided meditation. It does not have to be long to be effective. It is like hitting pause and letting myself catch my breath.
Spending Time with Friends
I am a firm believer in the healing power of being around people who make me laugh and remind me of what is good in life. Whether it is a low-key hangout with a close friend or a spontaneous night out, I always feel lighter after spending time with the people I love.
Pilates and Yoga: Grounding My Body
When my mind is spinning, I turn to movement. Pilates and yoga have become an essential part of my routine for both physical and mental balance. Whether it is a slow flow yoga session or a more intense Pilates class, these practices help me get out of my head and body. The movements are slow, intentional, and grounding, giving me something to focus on other than my racing thoughts. The best part? I always feel better afterward, not just physically, but emotionally, too. The release of tension is exactly what I need when I’m feeling weighed down.
